| This canary is so named because its feathers have the appearance of looking somewhat like the scales on a reptile. Generally the top of the head also features some bright yellow areas, somewhat like a crown. A variant of this bird is known as a "frosted". They have an additional white or gray coloring on the edge of the feathers that gives the appearance of an early morning frost. |
