Certainly an extremely distinctive looking bird.  Also known as the Dusky Twinspot.  Sometimes referred to as the "Ohio State" bird because of their scarlet and gray coloring.  Probably because of their Polish name their distinctive sound is **chirp-ski**.  (Only kidding).  

The male is sitting in front of the hen in the photo.  Although it is difficult to tell from the picture, the hen has distinctly more brown on the wings than has the male.
